Susannah welcomes the listener into the unbridled magic of music.
“Susannah’s embodied music invites a journey of deep remembrance toward our truest self.”
Often described as being a fearless performer, jazz vocalist Susannah Adams is well versed in the art of stepping into the unknown.
Dedicated to her craft, Susannah’s voice immediately harkens to her love of the jazz greats whilst simultaneously telling stories relevant for todays ever-changing world.
Drawing upon the emotions of Billie Holiday, the versatility of Ella Fitzgerald and the storytelling style of Sheila Jordan, Adams has woven these qualities into her own unique blend.
Whether singing jazz standards, offering a sound journey or delivering spoken word poetry, Susannah Adams has a truly authentic approach to music. She offers her song with reverence and delight.
This is where the sensual meets the sacred.
“She is a consummate professional, constantly honing her craft. More than most singers, Susannah spends a great deal of time cultivating her original voice as an improviser.”
Susannah has worked with some of Canada’s finest musicians, (Miles Black, Oliver Gannon, Daniel Lapp, Joby Baker, Miguelito Valdes, David Restivo, Scott White, Phil Dwyer, Attila Fias, Ryan Oliver), and has performed at numerous festivals and clubs across BC (Islands Folk Fest, Rifflandia, Victoria Jazz Fest, Hornby Island Festival, Frankie’s Jazz Club, Hermann’s, The Avalanche).
